Bea was three years old. She did not know the cause of his death until she turned 13. The stage name she chose was Bea to pay tribute to her father. She wrote an article for The Guardian in 2017 about the suicide of her family members. Bea, along with her sister Sinead and her sister Sinead, were brought up by Helen Moloney (n e Moloney) an ex-jockey and teacher at a secondary-school. They were obsessed with racing as well as horses. Bea was a child a Tour Guide at the Irish National Stud. From an early age, Bea knew that she didn't want racing as a career. Instead she loved the performing arts.
